Two uncapped Warriors selected in Scotland squad

Two uncapped Glasgow Warriors will contend to make their senior Scotland debut later this month, after interim Head Coach Dave Butcher selected both Imogen Spence and Nicole Flynn as part of a 32-strong squad for their upcoming double-header against Australia.

The pair are amongst a total of 11 Warriors selected for the two WXV Global Series fixtures, with the first match scheduled for Sydney on Saturday 17 October.

Both players were part of the setup for last month’s three WXV fixtures in Edinburgh, in which Ceitidh Ainsworth became the latest Warrior to make her international debut.

Ainsworth is once again selected in the travelling party, joining fellow Stirling County products Holland Bogan and Aicha Sutcliffe on the flight to Australia.

Rhea and Elliann Clarke are both included after making an impact during their outings in Edinburgh, whilst Anne Young and Becky Boyd feature amongst the 18 forwards selected by Butcher and his coaching group.

Evie Wills is selected after starting against Australia in the final match of the WXV fixtures in Edinburgh last month, as Lucia Scott returns to the squad after missing the last camp due to injury.

Scotland face Australia on Saturday 17 October and Friday 23 October in Sydney and Canberra respectively.
