Six Warriors named for New Zealand encounter

17 Sep 2026

Six Glasgow Warriors will take to the field for Scotland in their second WXV clash of 2026 this weekend, after interim Head Coach Dave Butcher named his matchday 23 to take on New Zealand in Edinburgh on Saturday evening.

The squad includes a first start for Ceitidh Ainsworth at scrum-half, the Stirling County product having made her senior international debut off the bench against Canada last weekend.

Holland Bogan comes into the starting XV after missing out on the clash with Canada last time out, starting in the second row for her first appearance in WXV.

Anne Young joins Ainsworth in being promoted to the starting lineup, as she starts at loose-head prop for the visit of the Black Ferns.

Young joins Elliann Clarke in the front row, the tight-head continuing at the coal face after an industrious showing a week ago.

Two further Warriors await their opportunity from the replacements bench, with Aicha Sutcliffe continuing in the number 16 jersey after making an impact after coming on last weekend.

Rhea Clarke completes the cohort of Warriors selected in the matchday 23, rotating to the bench after making her first start in a Scotland jersey last Saturday.

The match is live on BBC Alba this weekend, with kick-off at Hive Stadium scheduled for 5.10pm this Saturday.
