McIntosh to captain Scotland A
27 Aug 2026Glasgow Warriors second-row Fi McIntosh will captain Scotland A for the first time this weekend, leading a squad containing eight Warriors as her side takes on the Netherlands in Amsterdam this Saturday.
Having made the switch north from Harlequins ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, McIntosh is one of two Warriors with full international caps selected by Head Coach Claire Cruikshank, with Rianna Darroch – who made her senior Scotland debut during the 2026 Guinness Six Nations – selected amongst the replacements.
Another of Glasgow’s new signings can be found in the back-line, as Holly McIntyre lines up at inside centre having made the move to Scotstoun from Montpellier.
Poppy Mellanby starts at full-back after consistently impressing for the Warriors during her two Celtic Challenge campaigns to date, whilst Poppy Fletcher and Megan Hyland start in the front-row after a series of impressive displays during the U21 Six Nations Series earlier this year.
Gemma Thomson is selected on the blindside, with the Glasgow contingent completed by her Stirling County club-mate, Scarlett Haddow, who wears the number 23 jersey.
