Ceitidh Ainsworth, Megan Hyland, Nicole Flynn, Poppy Mellanby and Sky Phimister have all been selected by Claire Cruickshank for the upcoming Melrose Sevens.

The five players have been involved in Scotland pathway games including the recent U21 Six Nations Series and the wider Scotland Women training squad during the Guinness Six Nations

Scottish Thistles (Women) will play in a round robin format against Monaco Umusa, Melrose 1883, Hearts & Balls MB and Shogun Rugby, with the best two teams making the final.

Brent Jackson has been named in the Men’s Team heading as well.  Jackson has been involved with the sevens programme for Scotland since it’s resurgence last year.

The Scottish Thistles (Men) will play their first match against Musselburgh, with the winner playing Peebles.
