The nominees are:
Rory Darge
Scotland international Darge has been a driving force in the Glasgow pack throughout the opening block of fixtures, featuring in five of the Warriors’ six matches and making a significant impact at both ends of the pitch.
The back-row forward produced a remarkable defensive display against Connacht, making 32 tackles without missing a single one, underlining his importance to the Warriors’ defensive effort.
Darge has also been a potent attacking threat, crossing the whitewash against Connacht, Sale Sharks and Benetton to cap an outstanding start to the campaign.
Jamie Dobie
Dobie enjoyed a landmark afternoon at Thomond Park, celebrating his 100th appearance for Glasgow Warriors by scoring twice in a memorable victory over Munster and earning Player of the Match honours.
The versatile Scotland international has continued to make his mark in the weeks since, adding further tries against Ulster and Sale Sharks and picking up a second Player of the Match medal in victory over Connacht at Scotstoun.
His ability to inject pace and attacking intent into the Warriors’ play has been a feature of Glasgow’s unbeaten start, with the 24-year-old once again proving his value across the backline.
Sione Tuipulotu
Tuipulotu was at his influential best in Glasgow’s Investec Champions Cup victory over Sale Sharks, earning Player of the Match recognition after an all-action performance in the Warriors’ midfield.
The centre’s impact extended across both sides of the ball, combining his trademark physicality and ability to break the gain-line in attack with a formidable defensive presence.
A key figure in the Glasgow backline, Tuipulotu’s leadership and ability to bring those around him into the game have helped Smith’s side maintain their impressive early-season form.
Seb Stephen
Stephen has featured in all six of Glasgow’s matches during the opening block of fixtures, continuing to make an impression with his work rate, physicality and ability to carry the ball into contact.
His introduction against Munster proved an important turning point in the contest, with his strong ball-carrying helping Glasgow wrestle momentum back in their favour on the way to a memorable away win.
The forward also crossed for a try against Connacht and showcased his versatility against the 10Bet Lions, lining up in the back row for the first time as he continued to demonstrate his value to the squad.
All four nominees have been selected in the Scotland squad for the upcoming Autumn Nations Championship, rounding off an impressive opening block for the quartet in Glasgow colours.
