SP Energy Networks Community Spotlight | Jamie Stuart

Nominated by a host of his fellow Accies, Jamie Stuart was hailed as someone who makes a true and tangible influence on children’s rugby experiences, creating an environment that fosters enthusiasm and enjoyment amongst all participants.

His ability to make every child feel important and valuable to the team was a consistent theme throughout the nominations, underlining and embodying the values that rugby champions and that every club looks to pass on to its newest members.

Off the field, too, Stuart does his bit to help improve the lives of those both within the rugby community and beyond; a keen fundraiser for Strathcarron Hospice, he also recently completed the Sir Chris Hoy Tour de 4 challenge for the second successive year.

“I’m surprised and hugely grateful to be nominated for this award,” Stuart told glasgowwarriors.org.

“It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to support children, parents, and fellow coaches at Glasgow Accies.

“ I have always felt that grassroots rugby plays a vital role in development of key skills and attitudes which have a positive impact on and off the pitch. I’m delighted to be of a group that aims to develop lifelong passion for rugby.”

As part of the award, Stuart will be presenting the match ball at this weekend’s opening home BKT United Rugby Championship match against Ulster at Scotstoun.

He will be one of the nominees for the SP Energy Networks Community Hero award, in memory of Jim Taylor MBE, which will be presented at the club’s annual Awards Dinner later this season.
