Smith will run the 10k on behalf of the club’s official charity partner, with all donations raised contributing to Glasgow Warriors’ Fighting for our Families fundraising campaign.
The campaign supports Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and its work providing vital support to babies, children and young people receiving care at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital, as well as their families.
The Great Scottish Run will see thousands of runners take to the streets of Glasgow, with both the 10K and half marathon distances starting in the city centre before finishing at Glasgow Green.
For Smith, the event provides an opportunity to support a cause which is close to the Warriors and the wider Glasgow community.
“It’s a privilege to be able to represent Glasgow Warriors and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity at the Great Scottish Run,” said Smith.
“The work the charity does for children and families across Glasgow is incredibly important, and the Fighting for our Families campaign gives everyone connected with the club an opportunity to play their part.
“I’m looking forward to getting out there with my colleagues, representing the Warriors and hopefully raising as much as we can for such a fantastic cause.
“I’d encourage our supporters to get behind us whether that’s through a donation, coming to cheer us on or by signing up to run alongside us.”
Donations to Franco’s fundraising effort will go towards Glasgow Warriors’ Fighting for our Families campaign in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
