Leidos to make Plaster It Purple donation in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

Glasgow Warriors sponsor, Leidos, will donate £1 per seat sold to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity next week, at the BKT United Rugby Championship round 17 match against Scarlets.

At last season’s successful fundraising match, Leidos’ generous donation, helped contribute to a total of over £13,000 raised for the Club’s official charity partner.

This time around Glasgow Warriors want to beat last year’s total. The club are targeting £15,000 when they Plaster Scotstoun Purple on Friday 14 April.

Donations to Plaster It Purple can be made here.

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Al Kellock, said: “We’re at the business end of our season and we’ve got everything to play for in pursuit of a home play-off in the URC when Scarlets visit.

“This, and our campaign to Plaster Scotstoun Purple along with Leidos’ pledge, makes us determined to make sure we sell out Scotstoun.

“We’re delighted that Leidos have committed their support to the club for another year. Also, by their motivation to help us achieve our vision to make a ‘tangible difference to our community and those living in it’.”

Alec Harley, Director, Leidos Scotland said: “We are delighted to invest in our community through the Plaster it Purple campaign. Our employees’ families in Glasgow have personally benefitted from the outstanding care provided by Glasgow Children’s Hospital. This event is very special to us and our shared values with the Warriors makes this partnership important to Scotland.”

Kirsten Watson, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity CEO said: “We are extremely grateful to Leidos for their continued generosity around the Plaster it Purple fixture.

“It comes as no surprise that our hospital heroes have touched the lives of some employees at Leidos. Thanks to them, Glasgow Warriors and the brilliant fans, the Plaster it Purple game will help to ensure children and their families across Scotland will continue to receive the best care possible.”

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity cares for children being treated in hospital in the West of Scotland, from their base at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The charity raises funds to help those who tirelessly care for and nurture young lives at their most vulnerable; to invest in equipment, research and the continued improvement of facilities and services for children and families in hospital.
