Glasgow Warriors extend partnership with Mackenzie Construction

Glasgow Warriors will be able to continue to count on the support of Mackenzie Construction over the coming seasons, after extending their partnership with the club’s Official Civil Engineering Partner.

It will be the fifth season that the business will have thrown their support behind the Warriors, having initially come on board in 2018.

Having been founded in Glasgow back in 1980, Mackenzie Construction has grown into one of Scotland’s leading civil engineering contractors, with additional regional hubs in Inverness, Dundee and Newcastle.

Developing young talent is just one of the values shared by both the club and Mackenzie Construction, with the latter having opened their in-house training academy in 2020.

The two sectors of rugby and civil engineering came together back in March, as Glasgow Warriors Assistant Coach Pete Murchie and back-rower Ryan Wilson spoke to a group of young Mackenzie Construction employees at a post-Captain’s Run event ahead of the victory over Edinburgh at Scotstoun.

Andy Dalrymple, Managing Director of Mackenzie Construction, welcomed the extension, saying: “We are delighted to be renewing our sponsorship of the Glasgow Warriors as its Official Civil Engineering Partner for our fifth year.

“Over this time, we have built up a strong partnership with the club who are now an important part of our business and culture.

“More recently, we have enjoyed collaborating with the club around our shared values in people development and we look forward to continuing to promote this and championing young talent.”

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Al Kellock, added: “Having the support of a sponsor as loyal as Mackenzie Construction is incredibly valuable to the club, and we’re delighted to have them on board once again.

“This is a partnership that is founded on a bedrock of shared values, from placing a focus on developing the next generation to making a tangible difference within our local community.

“Those are values that we hold close to ourselves as a club, and the fact that these values are strongly shared by Mackenzie Construction only serves to further strengthen the partnership.”
