Leidos pledges support ahead of Plaster It Purple clash

For the fourth successive season, Leidos will be throwing their support behind Glasgow Warriors and the club’s fundraising drive for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, after it was confirmed that the official club sponsors will be pledging to donate £7,500 ahead of the club’s upcoming Plaster It Purple clash with Emirates Lions.

With just over a fortnight until Scotstoun turns purple in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, the donation sees Leidos provide the club with another boost to their 2024/25 Fighting for our Families fundraising target of £85,000, as preparations continue for the flagship fixture on Saturday 29 March.

The title sponsor of the annual Plaster It Purple fixture, Leidos have contributed over £30,000 to the club’s fundraising for the charity since the fixture’s inception in 2021, a figure that makes a life-changing difference to the patients and families within the hospital’s care.

“Once again we are delighted to invest in our community through the annual Plaster it Purple event and its mission to raise awareness and funding for the incredible work of Glasgow Children’s Hospital,” said Alec Harley, Site Lead for Leidos at their UK headquarters in Glasgow.

“Our employees’ families in Glasgow have personally benefited from this outstanding care provided by the Glasgow Children’s Hospital so this event is very special to us.

“This year we have a number of employee fundraising events taking place in our offices from smoothie bike challenges with the Warriors players, to wellbeing sessions and walks around our community areas.

“The hospital is a very special place and I have personally witnessed the impact of the funds on the families and children treated there, confirming the community spirit is alive in the shared values of Glasgow Warriors and Leidos.”

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Al Kellock, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Leidos for their ongoing support, not only of Glasgow Warriors, but to our annual Plaster It Purple fixture at Scotstoun.

“The money they donate – and the money donated by the Warrior Nation – makes such a difference to the lives of those supported by Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, something that we’re all extremely proud of here at Glasgow Warriors.

“We’d like to thank all of our rugby clubs and commercial partners for their support of our fundraising campaign so far, and encourage everyone to get involved ahead of our clash with the Emirates Lions and across the rest of the 2024/25 season.”
