Ferrie renews contract with Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow Warriors have continued their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign by retaining the services of one of Scotland’s top loose-forward prospects, after Euan Ferrie extended his contract with his boyhood club.

The East Kilbride RFC product – equally comfortable in the second-row and the back-row – has consistently impressed since making his professional debut in October 2022, registering two tries in his 35 appearances in Glasgow colours to date.

His efforts in the 2023/24 title-winning campaign saw Ferrie named as the Mackenzie Construction Most Improved Player of the Season, as well as being named in the matchday 23 for the 2024 BKT URC Grand Final victory over the Vodacom Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.

He has pulled on the Glasgow jersey 15 times so far in 2024/25, including a try-scoring appearance in September’s 42-10 victory over Saturday’s opponents, Benetton, at Scotstoun, whilst no Warrior has made more tackles in the BKT URC to date this season than Ferrie’s tally of 146.

A former Scotland U20 standout, Ferrie was called into a senior Scotland squad for the first time during the 2025 Guinness Six Nations, linking up with the group ahead of the opening match of the competition against Italy at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

The 23-year-old joins former Scotland U20 team-mates Alex Samuel and Max Williamson in pledging his future to the club, in addition to senior Scotland standouts including Zander Fagerson and Sione Tuipulotu.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Ferrie told glasgowwarriors.org following his renewal.

“To stay at a massive club like this one and secure my future for the next couple of years is brilliant, and the chance to keep developing in this team that’s growing season upon season is one for which I’m really grateful.

“There’s such a difference between where I am now and what I was like when I made my debut! The coaches have really pushed me and challenged me to improve and develop, and together with the group of boys we’ve got here, it’s made Scotstoun such a good place to come and work.

“Wherever I’m picked on the field, it’s a pleasure and an honour to represent this club. I want to end the season on a high with the boys and just keep on pushing myself to develop.”

Head Coach Franco Smith added: “Euan is a player whose pride in representing this club is evident through everything he does both on and off the field, and we’re pleased to extend his contract with us.

“His work ethic both in attack and defence is an important asset to how we want to play, with his versatility providing us with real options in our forward pack.

“We’re excited to see how he continues to develop into the best version of himself, and we believe he has a bright future for both Glasgow Warriors and Scottish rugby.”
