Cancelliere named Warrior of the Month for October

Sebastian Cancelliere has been rewarded for a series of outstanding performances across the month of October, after the Warrior Nation named the winger as their McCrea Financial Services Warrior of the Month.

The Argentinian flyer earned over 70% of the public vote to take home the trophy, his electrifying performances having only served to enhance his popularity amongst the Scotstoun faithful.

A product of the Hindu Rugby Club in Buenos Aires, Cancelliere was in scintillating form against the Vodacom Bulls in Glasgow’s opening match of October, finishing off a flowing team move in front of the West Stand in the first-half before superbly setting up Josh McKay’s score after the interval.

His defensive nous was also on full display against the men from Pretoria, a world-class cover tackle on Stedman Gans earning a roar of approval from the Warrior Nation.

The former Jaguares man’s display against Benetton in his most recent outing for the Warriors was arguably even more impressive, with Cancelliere appearing all over the field in a Player of the Match-winning display.

His game intelligence saw him link up with fellow Argentinian Domingo Miotti to dive over in front of the West Stand, whilst only a marginal forward pass could deny him from adding to his tally at the other end.

Capped 13 times by Los Pumas to date, Cancelliere also possesses a degree in engineering away from his rugby career.

The winger will be presented with his trophy next week, with the squad currently on a short break before returning to training on Monday 14 November to begin preparations ahead of a packed winter schedule.
