Venue change | Glasgow Warriors v USA Perpignan

Glasgow Warriors’ round two EPCR Challenge Cup fixture against USA Perpignan on Friday 16 December, kick-off 8pm, will now be held at BT Murrayfield, in Edinburgh. The kick-off time and date remain the same.

Despite the club’s best efforts to make the pitch at Scotstoun playable, the ongoing cold weather means maintaining a safe surface is not possible.

The club are now working through the various logistics required to ensure the game goes ahead, including if buses can be provided to transport ticket holders from Glasgow to Edinburgh.

Season Ticket holders and Match Ticket purchasers will receive full details about their options from our Customer Services team tomorrow. This fixture is now off sale and will go back online on Thursday for supporters to purchase match tickets.

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Al Kellock, said: “The club’s ground and operations team, along with the support of Scottish Rugby’s ground team have worked tirelessly on the pitch at Scotstoun over the past few days. However, the sustained cold weather has meant maintaining a playable surface is not possible.

“I am thankful to everyone who has worked extremely hard to ensure we have done all that is possible to get the game on at Scotstoun, however unfortunately the weather has beaten us.

“Playing this game is a priority and we are grateful to Scottish Rugby for making the pitch at BT Murrayfield available to us at short notice. We understand that this option doesn’t suit everyone, particularly considering the ongoing train strikes, and for that reason we are now looking at what provisions we can make for getting to and from the game easier.

“We continue to look forward to finalising our preparations for Friday’s match and playing Perpignan for the very first time.”

Friday’s match will be broadcast live by Viaplay.
