Around the Grounds | Following the Warriors home and away

Glasgow Warriors had a vocal travelling support behind them in Galway - not least because of a pocket of the Dexcom Stadium decked out in purple and gold.
Despite the disappointing result from a Glasgow perspective, there was no dampening the spirits of Marr U14, who ensured that Franco Smith’s men would be cheered from the first minute to the last as they battled a tenacious Connacht squad.
The team – who enjoyed their own Scottish-Irish clash when taking on Athlone RFC the following day – even had the chance to pose for photos with some of their favourite players, with Marr product Ollie Smith and double try-scorer Kyle Rowe amongst those to stop by and pose for photos.
The result continues the squad’s tradition of following the Warriors on the road, having previously supported the club in Exeter for the Investec Champions Cup clash back in January 2024.
On that occasion, the squad were lucky enough to have stayed in the same hotel as the Warriors, spending time with their heroes and even receiving coaching tips following the match.
GHA celebrates volunteer impact
As part of Student Volunteering Week last month, GHA Rugby Club celebrated the young people helping to drive the club forward behind the scenes.
Formed in September 2025, GHA’s marketing team is entirely volunteer-led and now comprises 12 individuals – many of whom are students or recent graduates – who are gaining real-world experience while contributing to one of Scotland’s most ambitious community sports clubs.
The student volunteers have played a key role in supporting and promoting this activity, working across social media, website enhancements, email campaigns, sponsor communications, fan engagement, matchday experience initiatives, and major events.
Adam Gordon, Board Member responsible for Marketing at GHA Rugby Club, said:
“We are incredibly proud of the students and young people who are giving their time and talent to the club. What they have delivered in a short space of time has been outstanding.”
“As we progress with our mission to become Scotland’s leading community rugby club, from minis to the Premiership, this team represents exactly what community sport should be about – opportunity, responsibility and real development.”
“They are not observers; they are making a genuine impact on how we communicate, engage and grow.”
Guard of honour delight for grassroots clubs
Glasgow Warriors have been cheered on by their grassroots clubs throughout the Celtic Challenge, with grassroots clubs leading the way through the pre-match guard of honour.
Ayr RFC’s girls section took to the field with their flags ahead of last weekend’s clash with Brython Thunder, cheering on Ayr’s own Shelley Main, Robynn Gibson and the rest of the Warriors in the Saturday sunshine.
Bishopton RFC’s girls section had a slightly soggier time of it during their pre-match guard of honour duty ahead of Glasgow’s clash with the Wolfhounds last month, yet that didn’t stop the group cheering as loud as possible upon the team’s entry to the field.
