Glasgow Warriors prop Fin Richardson has become the latest player to extend his contract with the club, renewing his deal with the Scotstoun squad ahead of the 2026/27.
The Scotland tight-head has made 15 appearances to date for Franco Smith’s side, having made his debut for the club in a 17-15 win over the Scarlets at Scotstoun in November 2024.
A British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) league title winner with the University of Exeter, Richardson’s potential saw the prop added to the Exeter Chiefs player pathway whilst studying for a law degree.
He first picked up a rugby ball at Cargilfield Prep School in Edinburgh, before playing his schoolboy rugby at Merchiston Castle.
Richardson’s dynamism with ball in hand has seen him catch the eye of pundits and supporters alike during his BKT United Rugby Championship outings, one such break setting up a try for Ben Afshar in victory over Connacht at Scotstoun in January 2025.
Formerly a Scotland U20 cap, Richardson made his senior international debut last summer, coming off the bench in a 41-12 win over Samoa at Eden Park.
“I’m really pleased to be able to extend my contract,” the prop told glasgowwarriors.org following the announcement.
“I think I’ve got so much out of being here for the last two years. I’ve learned a lot, both from the coaching team and from the guys here, and I’m very grateful for the time that everyone has put in to help me develop. I’m excited to keep pushing forward.
“Across the board, I feel like I’ve been making improvements in my game, and a lot of that is down to how good an environment has been created here. It’s a great group of guys and the culture here is top-notch – the onus is on everyone to keep pushing and keep developing, and that’s something I really enjoy.
“I feel very grateful to be able to say that I truly love what I do. It feels like we’re building towards something special and I love being a part of that. I just want to put my hand up for more game time, and I want to give my all for this team.”
Head Coach Smith added: “Fin is fully committed to becoming the best version of himself both on and off the field, and has fully bought into what it means to be a Glasgow Warrior.
“He has worked closely with the coaching team to identify and develop areas of his own game, diligently making adjustments to his own game since arriving at Scotstoun.
“We are pleased to be able to retain his services for another season, and we look forward to continuing to work together.”
