Glasgow Warriors have continued their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign, after Scotland scrum-half Jamie Dobie put pen to paper on a long-term contract extension with Franco Smith’s squad.
The new deal comes as the 25-year-old approaches a century of outings in Glasgow colours, having made 99 appearances in his seven years with the club to date.
Dobie made his senior professional debut in the opening match of the 2019/20 season, coming off the bench away to the Toyota Cheetahs after joining the Warriors directly from Merchiston Castle School.
Born in Inverness, he made an instant impression on the Warrior Nation in his first start for the club, earning the Player of the Match award and a standing ovation from the Scotstoun faithful in victory over the Dragons in February 2020.
His form in Glasgow colours saw Dobie earn his Scotland debut in October 2021, coming off the bench in a 60-14 win over Tonga at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
Dobie started on the wing for the first time in March 2023, helping the Warriors to a 38-26 win over Munster at Thomond Park.
Equally comfortable in either position, the Highland RFC product enjoyed a sublime 2025/26 season for club and country, finishing as Glasgow’s joint-top try-scorer in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
Amongst his season highlights were braces of tries in victories away to the Ospreys and Edinburgh – winning the Player of the Match award in both matches -, as well as a hat-trick in Scotland’s victory over the USA at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
Jamie Dobie said: “I’m delighted to extend my contract with Glasgow Warriors. It’s a club that means a lot to me and I’m incredibly proud every time I pull on the jersey, especially playing in front of our supporters at Scotstoun.
“It’s a brilliant environment here, and spending every day surrounded by world class players, coaches and staff makes it the best place for me to keep developing as a player.
“We’ve got an exciting, ambitious group here and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next few years.”
Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Franco Smith said: “Jamie has shown consistent growth during his time with the club and continues to develop as a player and a leader within our environment.
“His versatility and understanding of our game are important attributes, as is his willingness to work hard every day and set a positive example for those around him.
“He is a player who cares deeply about representing Glasgow Warriors and we are pleased that he has committed his long-term future to the club.”
