SP Energy Networks Community Pitch
This week we have something different on our SP Energy Networks Community Pitch hosting the Glasgow-based social touch-rugby group Keep In Touch – run by Matt Smith – as they seek to raise awareness for male suicide with the Brothers in Arms Touch Rugby Tournament.
Playing on Thursday nights at West of Scotland Rugby Club, Keep in Touch has a mix of players looking to stay connected with the game after they have retired from the professionals ranks, and others looking to play socially having very little previous involvement with rugby.
There will be seven teams competing for a place in the final, including the unified rugby team The Clan. The final will be played at half-time on Scotstoun’s main pitch.
Supporters on the night can head to the pitch behind the west stand to take in the action and get the chance to see the likes of Duncan Hodge, Rowen Shepherd, Stuart Grimes, Barry Stewart, Craig Joiner, Iain Sinclair and Derrick Lee, ahead of the European tie.
The Brothers in Arms charity use artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics to create innovative mental health support tools like #Blethr – an app designed to intervene ahead of any crisis.

The Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is situated in the main Leisure Centre. It will be open from 6.30pm until kick-off and then again from full-time.
To get to The Clubhouse, pass the entrance to Club KubeNet and take a right at the back of the Leisure Centre and follow the signage from there.
Supporters who first enter the stadium can access the Clubhouse by scanning out, and back in, at the North East Gate. Please note alcoholic drinks cannot be taken between the Clubhouse and the Stadium.
Back Green Band
The Warriors Pavilion hosts our house band, The Back Green Band. They’ll be playing their repertoire of pop sing-a-longs and classic rock hits before kick off.
Autograph Book
Our 28-page autograph book will be on sale around the stadium. It is £4 per book, with all profits going to our Fighting for Our Families campaign for Glasgow Children’s Hospital.
Look out for SP Energy Networks Scotstoun Squad who will be selling them. The book can be purchased with contactless payment only.
There will also be a chance to collects autographs with non-playing members of the squad out-and-about around the stadium.
Food and Drinks
We have various independent Scottish food and drink suppliers, all with vegan and gluten free options or alternatives. Each vendor makes their food to order with the finest locally sourced produce, this may mean at times you have to wait a little longer for your food to be prepared.
From this match and over the winter we’ll also be serving soup once again in the North Stand kiosks.
We are working with all our food and drinks vendors to better manage queueing times. The closure of the in-venue Clubhouse particularly is creating added pressure in the stadium bowl. The vendors are helping us with this adding additional personnel to their trucks where possible, and we are spending time on match days understanding where the main pinch points are to improve those.
With gates opening an hour and a half before kick-off and so that you can have the most enjoyable match day experience possible, we are encouraging supporters to leave plenty of time to arrive, collect food and drink, enjoy the entertainment on offer and find your seats.
Baffo Pizza, the pop-up pizza offering from the much loved west end restaurant of the same name, are back. They serve authentic Neapolitan style Italian wood fired pizza, and even make their own dough, cooked to a family recipe from their sleek black trailer.
They only use quality ingredients with cheese and flour imported from Italy, complemented with locally grown veg, and this local Italian family-owned business is operated by a brother and sister team.
Choose from their delicious selection of pizzas including Stornoway Black Pudding, their Vegano vegan pizza, and kid’s pizza for the under 12’s at a reduced price. Also on offer is gluten free penne pasta Napoli, plus delicious arancini; Italian street food made from risotto ball, stuffed, breaded, and fried till irresistibly crispy. For those with a sweet tooth they also offer freshly made cannoli.
