Date and kick-off time confirmed for Leicester Tigers clash

Glasgow Warriors will host its first-ever Investec Champions Cup knockout tie on Saturday 5 April, as Franco Smith’s squad welcome Leicester Tigers to Scotstoun in the Round of 16.

The clash – which will see the two sides meet for the first time since 2017 – will kick off at 8pm, as the Warriors look to progress to the quarter-final stages of the competition for the first time in six years.

A Leicester squad containing a wealth of international calibre talent, including Rugby World Cup-winning fly-half Handre Pollard, Tongan powerhouse Solomone Kata, and England international second-rower George Martin, will pose a stern test for Smith’s squad, with experienced Head Coach Michael Cheika at the helm.

Speaking following the draw, Head Coach Franco Smith told glasgowwarriors.org: “Leicester are a top-class outfit with some quality players, who have played some great rugby in the Investec Champions Cup so far.

“They will be a real challenge, and their result today is far from a true reflection of who they are as a group.

We’re excited to have an Investec Champions Cup knockout tie at Scotstoun for the first time ever. It’s a huge opportunity for us to take another step up, and we want to produce the best performance we can.

“Anyone can beat anyone in Europe this year and we look forward to the challenge that lies ahead.”

Ticketing information will be communicated in due course – please keep an eye on Glasgow Warriors social media channels for more.
