Clan N.E.W.S December
It’s time for the monthly update on all the Clan activity from across the club as we take a look back at November and what December has in store.
November was a cold month but that didn’t stop our Clans from helping out Victoria Park Community Trust planting fruit trees and bushes to help them create their new community orchard.
Another highlight was the visit to Childline which saw Ally Miller, Stafford McDowall and Allan Dell, get an insight into how the centre works and their need for more volunteers to support the work they do.
Heading into December, there are three club visits with Glasgow Accies, GHK and Paisley. These visits as always will allow the our squad to meet young aspiring players, join in with training, answer questions and sign autographs and take photos.
Hyndland Secondary and Scotstoun Primary will also have players visiting their schools. Hyndland will be making the trip to Scotstoun to meet players, while Glasgow Warriors have the honour of being invited to Scostoun Primary school for a class prizegiving.
Perhaps the biggest events of this month, is the visit to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. The visit is always a highlight for players, staff and patients at the hospital. This year will see the biggest group of players yet make the trip over to the hospital to spend time with some of the young patients and their families ahead of Christmas.
Glasgow Warriors staff will also be volunteering for the hospital by helping to wrap presents at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity stands in Buchanan Galleries and Braehead Shopping Centre. This is part of the year long ‘Fighting for Our Families‘ campaign to support the charity which has been the main charity partner for Glasgow Warriors for a number of years. If you would like your presents wrapped for you this Christmas while supporting such a worthy charity, head to either venue between 2-5pm on Wednesday 20 December. Our players will also be in attendance at Buchanan Galleries.
As always, if you would like a Clan visit arranged please contact Stuart Lewis on [email protected]
