2024/25 Champions Cup fixtures confirmed

Glasgow Warriors will open their 2024/25 Investec Champions Cup campaign in front of the Warrior Nation this December, following confirmation of this season’s pool stage fixtures by EPCR.

The defending BKT URC champions welcome Sale Sharks to Scotstoun on Saturday 7 December (kick-off 8pm), as Franco Smith’s squad take on the English heavyweights for the first time since doing the double over the Premiership outfit in 2019/20.

An Alex Sanderson-led Sale outfit will provide a stern opening test for their hosts, however, as a playing group including proven international performers such as Tom Curry and the incoming Waisea Nayacalevu – in addition to new Scotland caps, Gus Warr and Aaron Reed – look to better their 2023/24 showing in Europe’s premier club competition.

The Warriors then head to the south of France to take on three-time champions RC Toulon on Sunday 15 December (kick-off 1pm UK time), the two teams having become well-acquainted with each other in recent seasons.

It will be a first visit to the Stade Mayol for the Warrior Nation since the 2013/14 campaign, as a star-studded Toulon squad containing New Zealand flyer Leicester Fainga’anuku and newly-arrived England back-rower Lewis Ludlam await Smith’s charges.

A similarly talent-packed French squad will be the first-footers to Scotstoun in 2025 under the Friday night lights, as the Warriors welcome Racing 92 to Scotstoun on Friday 10 January (kick-off 8pm) for the first meeting between the two teams in eight years.

The visit of Stuart Lancaster’s squad to Glasgow will see some of rugby’s biggest global names run out at Scotstoun, including South Africa’s double Rugby World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi, British and Irish Lions fly-half Owen Farrell, and French stalwart Gael Fickou.

Smith’s squad round out their pool phase campaign with a trip to London and a rematch with Harlequins, the Twickenham Stoop hosting a rematch of last season’s Round of 16 clash on Saturday 18 January (kick-off 8pm).

The 2024 semi-finalists will once again be steered by the mercurial talents of Marcus Smith at fly-half, whilst the powerful presence of Chandler Cunningham-South will make himself known in the back-row.

Ticket and broadcast details for all matches will be confirmed in due course – guarantee your seat at Scotstoun for the visit of Sale Sharks and Racing 92 with a 2024/25 Season Ticket, on sale now!
