Smith makes one change for Clovers match

16 Jan 2026

Glasgow Warriors Women Head Coach Lindsey Smith has made one alternation to the starting line-up for this Sunday’s Celtic Challenge match against Clovers at Affidea Stadium (18 January, kick-off 3pm) – live on Celtic Challenge YouTube.

Winger Hannah Smyth returns to the starting line-up, while this weekend could also see a club debut for Hillhead Jordanhill’s Hannah Dunnett who is named amongst the replacements.

The front-row sees Megan Hyland continue to pack down alongside an unchanged prop pairing of Aicha Sutcliffe and Imogen Spence.

Holland Bogan and Freya Walker will link-up in the second row, while Gemma Thomson, Gemma Bell and Emily Coubrough are all once again named in the back-row.

Rianna Darroch and Ceitidh Ainsworth retain their half-back partnership, while Briar McNamara partners Nicole Flynn in the midfield.

The back-three sees Poppy Mellanby start at full-back, with Smyth and Sky Phimister lining up on the wings.

Speaking ahead of the match, Smith said: “We’ve opted for consistency in selection this week, giving another chance for this group to show their character and build on the work we’ve been putting in at training.

“We know Clovers will bring intensity and commitment, but we believe in our preparation and the way this squad has responded to challenges posed across the competition so far. It’s across the full 80 minutes that we’ll need to be sharp and take our opportunities when they come.”
