Six changes for Wolfhounds clash

23 Jan 2026

Glasgow Warriors Women Head Coach Lindsey Smith has made six changes to the starting line-up ahead of Sunday’s Celtic Challenge fixture against Wolfhounds at Virgin Media Park (25 January, kick-off 3pm) – live on Celtic Challenge’s YouTube channel.

Poppy Fletcher, Rebekah Douglas, Robyn Allan and Beth Blacklock all join the starting line-up, while there are two further positional changes with Aicha Sutcliffe and Briar McNamara moving to hooker and outside centre respectively.

The changed front row sees Sutcliffe pack down alongside Fletcher and Imogen Spence, while in the second row Holland Bogan and Freya Walker make up a familiar pairing.

Emily Coubrough anchors a settled back row, with Gemma Thomson and Gemma Bell named at blindside and openside flanker respectively.

Douglas’ selection at scrum-half brings a fresh half-back pairing to the team, with Ceitidh Ainsworth retaining her position at stand-off, while Blacklock partners McNamara in the midfield.

The back three sees Poppy Mellanby continue at full-back, with Allan and Sky Phimister lining-up on the wings.

Looking ahead at the fixture, Smith said: “We’ve had an honest review after last weekend’s loss against Clovers and we knew this week would be slightly different as we’ve had to manage players heading into Scotland camp, however, we’ve been pleased with the response we’ve seen from the players during training this week.

“Wolfhounds are currently unbeaten this season so we’re under no illusions on the test we will face this weekend, however, our focus going into the contest is about ensuring that we stick to our processes and game plan for the full duration of the match.”
