Smith’s squad have picked up a maximum 10 points from their two BKT United Rugby Championship fixtures since the competition’s resumption, a six-try, 38-17 triumph at home to Leinster welcoming the Warriors back in style.
Friday night’s 31-10 win over Benetton at Scotstoun consolidated Glasgow’s position at the top of the BKT URC standings, with attentions now turning to Saturday evening’s Investec Champions Cup Round of 16 clash with the Vodacom Bulls.
Supporters can vote for their winner until 5pm on Friday 3 April by clicking here.
The nominees are:
Alex Samuel
Scotland international second-rower Samuel made an immediate impression on Glasgow’s return to BKT URC rugby, turning in a highlight-reel-worthy performance in the victory over Leinster in front of a sold-out Scotstoun.
The 23-year-old topped the tackle chart with a 100% success rate from his 20 hits against the Irishmen, including bone-crushing hits on opposition second-rowers Brian Deeny and RG Snyman in a Player of the Match-winning display.
Samuel then made an impact off the bench on Friday night, carrying prominently during his time on-field in the win over Benetton in front of the Warrior Nation.
Alex Craig
Paired with Samuel in the second-row against Leinster, Craig was equally impressive as the Warriors continued their strong run of recent momentum.
The summer arrival from the Scarlets was prominent throughout in front of a capacity crowd in Glasgow’s west end, carrying strongly and stealing two lineouts from the Irish province.
Craig was another to make an impression from the bench on Friday night, bringing his trademark dynamism in both attack and defence to help guide his team to victory.
Johnny Ventisei
Since returning from a short-term loan deal with Edinburgh at the turn of the year, former Scotland U20 captain Ventisei has repeatedly caught the eye with his efforts in training, being singled out for praise by Smith and his coaching team.
His efforts were rewarded with a senior professional debut against Leinster, becoming Warrior #375 and outshining his more established opposing centres, Robbie Henshaw and Rieko Ioane.
Ventisei has also recently celebrated signing his first professional contract with his boyhood club, signing up for two more years with Glasgow Warriors.
Kyle Rowe
Rowe returned to action in scintillating form for Glasgow Warriors after his time in Scotland camp, as the winger picked up where he left off for Smith’s men.
Having crossed for a brace of tries in last month’s visit to Connacht, Rowe brought Scotstoun to its feet with a superlative individual effort against Leinster, burning his man on the outside before collecting his own chip ahead to score from fully 70 metres out.
Only fellow back-three men Josh McKay and Ollie Smith have made more metres than the Scotland flyer in Glasgow colours this season, with all three players sitting inside the top 10 across the BKT URC.
