With a club record crowd of over 1100 spectators expected at Scotstoun for Glasgow’s final fixture of the Celtic Challenge regular season, the Warriors know that victory over their cross-country rivals is essential as they look to keep their hopes of a semi-final berth alive.
Included amongst the crowd will be representatives of each club that has played a role in developing a Warrior within the current 35-strong squad, with those clubs provided with a bank of tickets to inspire the next generation under the Friday night lights.
Speaking ahead of Friday night’s match, Head Coach Smith told glasgowwarriors.org: “It’s great that we’ve been able to recognise the clubs across Scotland that have played such a vital role in helping to develop our Warriors, and the role they continue to play in developing the next generation of rugby players.
“We want to inspire kids of all ages that are watching on Friday night to pick up a rugby ball and get involved, and to show what it means to us to represent not only this club, but each club, coach and team-mate that has helped us along the way.
“Everyone is raring to go ahead of Friday night – it’s shaping up to be a record-breaking crowd for this group and we can’t wait to run out in front of the Warrior Nation.”
The clubs from across Scotland that will be represented in the crowd at Scotstoun on Friday night are:
Ayr, Biggar, Caithness, Cartha Queen’s Park, Dunbar, Dunfermline, Ellon, Heriot’s, Highland, Howe of Fife, Huntly, Livingston, Mackie, Moffat, Stirling County, Watsonians, West of Scotland, Whitecraigs, Wigtownshire.
