Dempsey to leave Glasgow Warriors
17 Mar 2026Glasgow Warriors can confirm that Jack Dempsey will leave the club following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign, in order to take up a playing contract overseas.
The 31-year-old will depart at the end of a five-year spell at Scotstoun, making 63 appearances to date since his debut for the club away to Ulster in September 2021.
His trademark dynamism in attack has seen him at the heart of some of the club’s most memorable moments in recent seasons, whilst he topped the tackle charts on his 50th appearance for the club – the 21-16 victory over the Vodacom Bulls at Loftus Versfeld to secure the 2024 BKT United Rugby Championship title.
Dempsey’s barnstorming form in the Investec Champions Cup this season has seen the back-rower become the first Warrior since 2017 to be shortlisted for the Investec Player of the Year award, playing a key role in Glasgow’s unbeaten run in the pool stages to help the Warriors claim the second seeding for the knockout stages.
Born in Sydney and a former Australian international, Dempsey qualifies for Scotland courtesy of his grandfather and has earned 33 caps for the men in blue to date, including representing Gregor Townsend’s squad at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
