The experience from Duncan Weir is good and that ball floats high over the posts. What a game. A tough lose, but the boys stuck in and that is a respectable score with two points taken from Loftus Versfeld.
Glasgow win the ball on the ground after a Bulls scrum. Euan Ferrie stealing.
This will be the last play of the game. Duncan Weir sets up the kick to bring the score within seven points.
That is some kick from Chris Smith, he makes it.
That error could be vital. In the middle of the park Bulls pressurise the ruck enough to force the penalty. They are going for goal from 55 metres.
Another passage of Glasgow Warriors attack. Knocking at the door on the half way line. Bulls’ tackles are sticking for now though, finally a knock on stops play and hands Glasgow the set piece.
Incredible scenes! Another try. This time Duncan Weir, following breaks from McDowall, Cancelliere, Tuipulotu, Dobie, and a final pick and go from the replacement stand off. Beautiful!
Great to see Sebastian Cancelliere back on the score sheet. In a period of fairly slow momentum, a perfectly timed intercept from the winger, opened him up to run in from the halfway.
Line out connects. Maul functions and makes ten metres. Dobie chooses his pass well, finds Tom Jordan, who puts in a 30 metre pass out wide to Kyle Steyn who runs in Glasgow’s second try freely.
Tom Jordan places Glasgow on Bulls’ five metre line. This is the best territory Glasgow have had for quite a while.
Chris Smith adds three more points!
Willie Le Roux puts in a long 50/22, starting in his own 22. That Bulls then pressurise from the line out. They get within five metres, but a knock on allows Glasgow to clear their lines.
Chris Smith adds another three points for Bulls.
Some brilliant open play rugby from Glasgow there, quick short passes openig up space for Rory Darge who makes 25 metres. However, his supporting men play the ball off feet and are penalised.
Glasgow work all the way up to Bulls’ 22, but unfortunately a high pass from Thomas Gordon goes over the head of Kyle Steyn with space on the wing. Bulls line out.
Glasgow have an opportunity to build an attack phase from this scrum, that’s just inside Bulls’ half. This comes after a dead ball kick up the middle from Chris Smith.
Another lost line out, the ball moved through the hands from coast-to-coast and Canan Moodie runs in the bonus point try for the home team.
Ben Whitehouse gives the visitor’s some respite blowing up, penalising the Bulls for a neck roll. Tom Jordan kicks to touch and Glasgow have a line out on their own ten metre line.
Close quarters rugby from Bulls. They are battering the Glasgow line, phase after phase. Inching closer to the try line.
Tom Jordan restarts the match.
From their own 22, and under Glasgow pressure Kurt-Lee Arendse makes a 40 metre break and then offloads to Elrigh Louw on his shoulder who is left to run in try number three.
Kyle Steyn chases down the Bulls kick and it flies diagonally across the home team’s 22. He then chases that ball down and makes the covering tackle on the player who gathers. Great pressure, pushing Bulls back on to their five metre.
Stand off Chris Smith kicks the penalty and extends the Bulls’ lead.
Half an hour on the clock and Franco Smith replaces his entire front row. Nathan McBeth, Johnny Matthews, and Zander Fagerson on.
Bhatti, Stewart, and Walker off.
George Horne opts for the points and adds three.
Glasogw playing a really narrow passage of play, looking for different breaks and half breaks right in the close quarters of the Bulls forwards. And, after ten or so phases Ben Whitehouse lifts his arm, penalty to Glasgow
Kyle Steyn is back on and a chance to place the ball on Bulls’ five metre.
After a great deal of pressure there from the Bulls, and number eight Cameron Hanekom powers over for their second try.
Bulls come again. Another penalty on the five metre line. Steyn is still in the bin.
Massive pressure from the Bulls. Two line outs and two huge pushes in the maul. This final attempt the players cross the line, but Glasgow get under it and hold it up.
Tom Jordan punts the ball away and reaches halfway.
That’s as long a restart as you’ll ever see. Tom Jordan pinning the Bulls right back against their line. The returning kick goes out just shy of the half and Glasgow have a line out in opposition territory.
And, the home side score immediately, from an almost identical line out and try move as Glasgow scored their first try from.
Nothing came from the Glasgow penalty and Bulls won the ball quickly. They then worked through a handful of phases before a tip tackle sees Kyle Steyn sent to the sin bin.
Glasgow are working really hard in defence so far, pressurising the Bulls’ wide runners. This particular attack from the home team, ends with Matt Fagerson putting his opposite man in touch and a tussle breaking out between the two sides as the Ball isn’t willing handed over.
Referee Ben Whitehouse decides that its a Glasgow ball and enough was done to earn a penalty.
George Horne kicks to touch and relieves the immediate pressure.
From that line out though Glasgow dominate the ruck and turnover to win a scrum. This is just shy of their own five metre line, so they’ll need to exit well here.
Bulls looking to respond immediately, with pace. Their pressure pays off, despite good covering tackles from Glasgow. The last ball comes off Rory Darge’s hand into touch, giving the home team the line out.
George Horne converts. What a start!
A lovely short pass from hooker Grant Stewart to Matt Fagerson at the front of the line out. The move caught the opposition defence off guard and he runs in over for the first try of the game.
That ferocious passage of play ends with a Glasgow penalty, after Rory Darge was pinned to the ground and unable to get out of the ruck. This penalty is on Bulls’ ten metre line and will be kicked to touch by Tom Jordan.
From the research, Glasgow inject some pace. Jordan, to McKay, to McDowall, out to Steyn on the wing. All of them making yards, and Steyn powering his way into the Bulls’ half.
An unusual tussle on the ground as neither team can grip hold of the ball. In these dry conditions it’s bizarre to seeing it popping up over and over. The referee, then chooses to stop play and ask the players to stop shouting “knock on, knock on”.
Glasgow win their first bit of possession, winning a free kick from a scrum, just on their own 22. Tom Jordan kicks it to touch and Bulls take the throw quickly.
