Tuipulotu and Jones to start first Test
An all-Glasgow Warriors midfield combination will line up for the British & Irish Lions this Saturday, after Sione Tuipulotu and Huw Jones were both selected in the starting XV for the first Test against Australia in Brisbane.
The duo continue a partnership that has seen them become one of the most formidable centre pairings in world rugby, having consistently impressed for both club and country since first linking up for Glasgow Warriors in the 2022/23 campaign.
They will become the first centres to win a British & Irish Lions Test cap in the professional history of Glasgow Warriors when they run out at Suncorp Stadium this Saturday, having both caught the eye with their performances so far.
Tuipulotu has played every minute of his four appearances on the tour to date, opening his try-scoring account with a well-taken finish against the AUNZ Invitational XV last time out.
Jones’s tally of three tries on tour to date equals the highest total in a single tour by a Glasgow Warrior in the professional era, the 31-year-old having also made 208 metres with ball in hand during his four outings in the red jersey to date.
Supporters can watch all the action live on Sky Sports, with kick-off on Saturday scheduled for 11am.
