Walker in line for Scotland debut
3 Nov 2022Glasgow Warriors prop Murphy Walker could make his senior Scotland debut at BT Murrayfield this weekend, after being named amongst the replacements for Saturday’s Autumn Nations Series clash with Fiji.
The 23-year-old will make his first outing for Gregor Townsend’s squad should he come off the bench, having been the only uncapped member of the touring squad for the 2022 summer tour to South America.

Walker is one of eight Warriors selected for Saturday afternoon’s meeting with the Flying Fijians, as Scotland look to bounce back from last weekend’s narrow defeat to Australia in their second match of the Autumn Nations Series.
Richie Gray is selected in the second-row after an impressive start to the 2022/23 season, with the 2013 British and Irish Lion set to make his first start in the dark blue jersey since 2017 when he takes to the field on Saturday afternoon.
George Turner joins Gray in the pack, having come off the bench against the Wallabies last time out.
He’s joined in the front-row by Zander Fagerson, the tight-head making his eighth consecutive start for Scotland at the coal face.
Matt Fagerson lines up at number eight, winning his 26th cap for his country at the base of the scrum.
Ali Price continues at scrum-half, his tally of 55 caps behind only Stuart Hogg’s tally of in the back-line.
Fresh from making his debut off the bench against Australia last weekend, Jack Dempsey retains his place in the matchday 23, the back-rower lining up alongside Walker amongst the replacements.
Sione Tuipulotu completes the contingent of Warriors set to run out at BT Murrayfield on Saturday, the centre rotating to the bench after starting against the Wallabies.
