Smith makes six changes for Wolfhounds encounter

13 Feb 2026

Glasgow Warriors Women Head Coach Lindsey Smith has made six changes to the starting line-up ahead of this Sunday’s Celtic Challenge fixture against Wolfhounds at Scotstoun Stadium (15 February, kick-off 2pm).

In the forwards, there are two personnel changes as Megan Hyland and Ellie Williamson join the starting line-up, while there is a positional change for Aicha Sutcliffe who moves to loosehead prop.

In the backs, Rianna Darroch starts at scrum-half, while Emily Norval and Claudia McLaren are promoted from the replacements to start on the wings.

Speaking ahead of the match, Smith said: “We’ve shown a lot of resilience in our recent performances but we need to ensure we come out firing in the first-half and take the chances when they arise.

“This week’s focus has been about consistency in our contact work and being more clinical when we have possession. Wolfhounds have been on an impressive winning streak but we showed in Cork that we can challenge them.

“The players are excited to run out in front of a home crowd again at Scotstoun and we’re determined to put in a performance to match that occasion.”

In the front row, Hyland packs down at hooker alongside Sutcliffe and Katie Lindsay, while Holland Bogan and Williamson link-up in the second row.

An unchanged back row sees Gemma Thomson, Eilidh MacGilvray and Emily Coubrough retain their places.

Darroch and Ceitidh Ainsworth reunite to form the half-back partnership, while Millie Warren and Briar McNamara continue in the midfield.

The back-three sees Poppy Mellanby named at full-back once again, while Norval and McLaren line-up on the wings.
