Glasgow Warriors duo Holland Bogan and Nikki Simpson have been invited to train with the Scotland senior squad ahead of the 2024 Guinness Six Nations, following a series of standout performances across the 2024 Celtic Challenge.

The uncapped pair will link up with the 34-strong squad named by Head Coach Bryan Easson just over a week ago, joining four fellow Warriors – Louise McMillan, Mairi McDonald, Beth Blacklock and Coreen Grant – at Oriam as preparations continue ahead of next month’s tournament.

Garioch RFC hooker Simpson started all seven matches across the Celtic Challenge in Glasgow’s first campaign in the competition, impressing supporters and pundits alike with her all-action style around the park.

Having started her rugby journey at Ellon, the 25-year-old – who recently signed a first-ever development contract with Scottish Rugby – was first included in a wider Scotland training squad ahead of the 2023 Six Nations, before also being included in the training squad ahead of last year’s WXV2 competition.

Back-rower Bogan also featured in each of Glasgow’s fixtures in their inaugural campaign, the Stirling County star – comfortable in both the second-row and back-row – providing a dynamic presence in both attack and defence for Chris Laidlaw’s squad.

The 18-year-old is invited to train with the senior Scotland squad for the first time, having previously starred for Scotland U18 and Scotland Futures.

Having initially picked up a rugby ball at Eastwood High School, Bogan was also involved in the SP Energy Networks Warriors Championship, becoming one of the first three players – alongside Ceitidh Ainsworth and Chloe Brown – to represent Glasgow Warriors having featured in the championship.
