McBeth voted McCrea Financial Services Warrior of the Month for March
Glasgow Warriors loose-head prop Nathan McBeth is keenly anticipating this weekend’s Investec Champions Cup quarter-final showdown with Leinster, after being voted as the McCrea Financial Services Warrior of the Month for March by the Warrior Nation.
A sterling run of performances saw the Scotland international emerge with over 50% of the vote, after playing a key role in all three of Glasgow’s three matches across the month.
McBeth became the first prop in the club’s professional history to score in four successive matches, after touching down for tries against the Ospreys, Munster and Emirates Lions in March to add to his tally away to the Dragons in February’s sole fixture.
The loose-head’s dynamic brand of carrying saw him play a prominent role in each fixture under the Scotstoun floodlights, whilst also impressing at the set-piece as part of an eye-catching Glasgow pack.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s last-eight clash at the Aviva Stadium, a smiling McBeth told glasgowwarriors.org: “I’d like to thank the Warrior Nation for their support – I’m really surprised to win this award, because props never get nominated for these things, let alone win them!
“I’d like to thank God, because without him I wouldn’t be in this position and feel very blessed.
“I genuinely didn’t expect this at all, so thank you to the supporters for voting for me!
“I just love the game, especially when the team is playing like this and the sun is shining. To run out here with my family in the crowd, that’s all the motivation I need.
“We know that this weekend is one of the biggest games we’ve played in, and these sorts of matches are the reason that we play rugby. We’re all excited to get out there this weekend and we can’t wait to run out on Friday night.”
McBeth also elected to support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity with his award, with McCrea Financial Services donating to the charity on his behalf.
“We saw against the Lions on Plaster It Purple night how much the charity means to everyone, and the work they do within the community is so inspiring,” said McBeth.
“I’m happy to be able to show my support however I can, and thank you to all the staff at the hospital for the work they do for the patients and families within the hospital’s care every day.”
