Fagerson to win 50th cap in Wallabies clash
Matt Fagerson will earn his 50th cap for Scotland in this weekend’s Autumn Nations Series finale, after being named at number eight for Sunday’s clash with Australia at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
The 26-year-old will bring up the milestone as one of 10 Glasgow Warriors named in Scotland’s starting XV for this weekend’s meeting with the Wallabies, as Gregor Townsend’s squad look to finish their November campaign on a high.
Fagerson’s elder brother, Zander, returns to start at tight-head, the British and Irish Lion having been rested for last weekend’s 59-21 win over Portugal.
Scott Cummings is another to return to the starting lineup after missing last weekend’s win, the second-rower available once more after completing his one-match suspension following his red card against South Africa.
Rory Darge serves as vice-captain after being named on the openside flank, the North Berwick product joining Fagerson in the back-row for Scotland’s first meeting with Australia since 2022.
Behind the scrum, Sione Tuipulotu leads the squad from inside centre, with the captain set to be cheered on from the stands at Scottish Gas Murrayfield by his grandmother for the first time in his Scotland career.

Huw Jones partners Tuipulotu in the midfield, having enjoyed an eye-catching campaign in the centres to date this November.
Four further Warriors await their opportunity from the bench after being named amongst the replacements, with Rory Sutherland set to feature in his fourth successive Test match in the dark blue jersey.
The Warriors contribute all three backs on the bench, with Tom Jordan – Player of the Match against Portugal last Saturday – rotating to the bench to join Sutherland in featuring in all four fixtures in the Autumn Nations Series.
George Horne joins Jordan in moving to the replacements after starting last time out, the scrum-half having started a Test match at Scottish Gas Murrayfield for the first time in his Scotland career last Saturday.
Kyle Rowe rounds out the matchday 23, as the winger retains his place amongst the replacements for Sunday’s meeting with the Wallabies.
Kick-off at Scottish Gas Murrayfield is at 1.40pm, with the match live on TNT Sports.
