Glasgow academy prospects for final Scotland U20 match
Scotland U20 will round off their World Rugby U20 Trophy campaign on Sunday (30 July at 10am) against Samoa in the third/fourth place decider, with four of Glasgow Warriors’ Academy prospects included in the starting XV.
Callum Norrie starts at tighthead prop moving up from the bench in the previous game against Uruguay. Meanwhile, Ruaraidh Hart (pictured) packs down in the second row.
In the backs, Ben Salmon continues his centre partnership with Watsonians’ Finlay Thomson. Kerr Johnston is named on the wing, earning his first start of the competition.
From other Glasgow and the west clubs, Ayrshire Bulls’ scrum-half Ben Afshar retains the co-captaincy, along with Edinburgh Rugby Academy player, Liam McConnell. GHA RFC’s hooker Archie Falconer is named on the bench.
Head Coach, Kenny Murray, said: “We want to finish third. That’s a no brainer. We’ve been working hard over the past couple of days to pick the guys back up and get them back on track.
“Samoa are no doubt a physical team. They will be a massive challenge, one that the team are ready to face.”
The game will be available to watch here.
