Glasgow Warriors were the first team to qualify for the Round of 16 games, after last weekend’s win over Racing 92. Glasgow are currently second in the pool behind Toulon with Harlequins in third. We have already secured a home Round of 16 game at Scotstoun Stadium and have the opportunity to top the group this weekend to guarantee a home Quarter-Final if we qualify for the top eight.

The two sides have only met once before, last year at The Stoop, where Harlequins came away with the win. The last 16 game saw Glasgow take an early lead in the opening two minutes of the game through Scott Cummings, but behind 14 points by half time. The second half saw Glasgow regain the lead 24-21 with not long to go in the game. Harlequins down a man, with Joe Marler sent to the bin, the home side dug deep and kept Glasgow from scoring. A crucial turnover for Harlequins saw a lineout maul scored and converted, giving them the win 28-24.

Glasgow will be keen to go back to The Stoop and fight hard for that win given how close they came last season.  Glasgow have been performing well, but with narrow losses will be determined to set their record back on track.

Harlequins European form has been mixed, with losses against Bath and Toulon but a massive win over the Stormers in the second round.  Their losses were both away and their win at home. The team will be keen to match their performance from the second round and put on a show for their home crowd.

Harlequins have six players selected for the England Six Nations squad with Fin Baxter, Chandler Cunningham-South, Alex Dombrandt in the forwards and Cadan Murley, Oscar Beard and Marcus Smith in the backs.

Glasgow Warriors have sixteen players selected for the Scotland Six Nations squad, with Sione Tuipulotu being named Captain.

With this game being one of the final chances for the selected test players to play it is expected that this game will be full of action and drama from the whistle.

Ones To Watch

Harlequins players Murley and Beard, will be keen to back up their England selection as current uncapped internationals.

From a Glasgow side, Jack Mann is also uncapped Internationally and will be keen to further prove his selection to the Scotland squad.  Last weekend saw five tries through five players, which shows Glasgow’s attacking threat from anywhere on the pitch.
