Squad selected for Bath clash

The match – which will be broadcast live on the official Glasgow Warriors YouTube channel for those unable to make it to a sold-out Old Anniesland – will see the squad’s young prospects given another chance to impress, following a display filled with positives against Newcastle Red Bulls.

Jake Shearer and Ottavio Tuipulotu both retain their places from the team that started at Kingston Park a fortnight ago, with Fin Richardson coming into the front-row for his first appearance of pre-season.

Ruaraidh Hart and Dan Halkon combine in the second row, the former making his first start since returning to the club earlier this summer.

Ally Miller comes into the back-row to start at blindside, joining Angus Fraser and Macenzzie Duncan as the loose forward trio.

Callum Reidy starts following a try-scoring impact off the bench at Kingston Park, pairing up with Matthew Urwin in the half-backs.

Bayley Kuenzle will pull on a Glasgow Warriors jersey for the first time since arriving from Western Force in the summer, lining up alongside Johnny Ventisei in the midfield combination.

Guy Rogers – after a brace of tries against Newcastle Red Bulls – and Cameron van Wyk are selected on the wings, with Fergus Watson completing the starting lineup at full-back.

A wealth of academy prospects await their opportunity after being named amongst the replacements, including Joe Roberts and Ollie McKenna in the front row; Harvey Preston and Dylan Cockburn in the back row; and Harry Provan and Alex Bryden amongst the back-line options.

Four players who part of the Scotland squad during the Nations Championship this summer are included in the matchday squad, with Seb Stephen, Nathan McBeth, Max Williamson and Ollie Smith selected on the bench for tomorrow’s clash.

Murphy Walker and Sam Talakai provide further experience in the front row, whilst Josh McKay and Dan Lancaster offer likewise behind the scrum.

Jack Oliver, Kerr Yule and Kerr Johnston all rotate to the bench after starting in Newcastle, whilst Gregor Johnston completes the matchday squad as he continues his one-month training contract with the club.

“The match presents a great chance for our young, Scottish talents to test themselves against a squad packed with high-quality players that regularly challenges at the top of the English game.

“We would also like to extend our thanks to both West of Scotland RFC for hosting us during pre-season training, and to everyone GHK for welcoming us to Old Anniesland and helping us to prepare for tomorrow night – it promises to be a great occasion.”
