Hart rejoins Glasgow Warriors
4 Sep 2026Glasgow Warriors have bolstered their options in the engine room ahead of the 2026/27 season, after Ruaraidh Hart put pen to paper on a first professional contract with Franco Smith’s squad.
The 22-year-old returns to Scotstoun after coming through the club’s academy system, making his senior professional debut in a 40-7 victory over the Dragons at Scotstoun in February 2024.

A product of Birkmyre RFC and Glasgow Academy, Hart represented Scotland at U18 and U20 level, featuring for Scotland U20 across the 2023 and 2024 U20 Six Nations.
Having been a prominent member of the Stirling County pack since departing Scotstoun in 2024, he was also selected for Scotland Club XV for their clash with Ireland Club XV earlier this year.
“I’m incredibly excited to be back,” Hart told glasgowwarriors.org.
“I’m happy to have been given another opportunity to show what I’m about and I’ve been working hard throughout the off-season to be in the best position to come in and give my all.
“Having spent a couple of years studying at university, I feel like I’m coming back as a more rounded person and a more rounded athlete. I’m still thoroughly enjoying what I’m doing at university, but I’m desperate to get back out on the pitch and make the most of this opportunity.
“I want to thank everyone at Stirling County, too, for everything they’ve done to help me develop – I wouldn’t have been able to earn this opportunity without the work of everyone up at Bridgehaugh.
“I just want to get back fully into the group, keep working hard and putting my hands up for more opportunities. Making my Glasgow Warriors debut a couple of years ago was a dream come true and hopefully I can add to that tally of appearances this season.”
