15 Warriors selected in Scotland Women U20 squad for Summer Series
Scotland Women U20 Head Coach Louise Dalgliesh has named 15 Glasgow Warriors in her squad for the upcoming U20 Six Nations Summer Series, as the next generation of Scottish rugby talent prepare to take to the stage.
The series will see Scotland take on England, Wales and Ireland across a fortnight-long competition at Ystrad Mynach in Wales, with Dalgiesh’s squad kicking off their campaign this weekend.

The playing group includes Poppy Mellanby for the first time at U20 level, with the Biggar RFC product – comfortable at either fly-half or full-back – having become the youngest player in the history of Glasgow Warriors when making her debut for the club in this season’s Celtic Challenge at the age of just 17.
Ceitidh Ainsworth joins Mellanby amongst the options at fly-half, the club’s vice-captain in the Celtic Challenge having also taken home the Coaches Player of the Season award at the club’s annual Awards Dinner.
Ainsworth’s club-mate at Stirling County, Emily Norval, is selected as one of the wingers in the squad after a try-scoring debut in Glasgow Warriors colours in victory over Edinburgh back in February, with Nicole Flynn named amongst the centres after returning from injury to pull on a Glasgow Warriors jersey for the first time in Origin Round against Brython Thunder.
A brace of scrum-halves complete the Warriors selected amongst the back-line, as Rianna Darroch and Rebekah Douglas – a Warrior during the club’s inaugural campaign in 2023/24 – prepare to pull on a Scotland jersey.
Up front, Emily Coubrough is named after a standout Celtic Challenge campaign, the back-rower having made more carries and more tackles than any other Warrior in the competition.
Aisha Zameer joins Coubrough in the loose-forwards, the University of Strathclyde student having also captained her squad during for the 2025 Varsity Match against the University of Glasgow at Scotstoun.
Gemma Thomson joins Mellanby in making the step up from U18 after co-captaining her country at the U18 Six Nations Festival earlier this year, with Sophie Price also named in the loose-forwards for the upcoming Summer Series.
Both of Glasgow’s 2024/25 Celtic Challenge hookers earn a call-up to Dalgliesh’s squad, with Megan Hyland and Aicha Sutcliffe having both represented the Warriors in each match of this season’s competition.
Elidh Fleming and Poppy Fletcher are included amongst the props, the pair having also both represented Scotland at last summer’s U20 Six Nations Summer Series.
The Glasgow contingent is completed by Louise Taperell, the prop having trained with the Warriors consistently throughout the 2024/25 Celtic Challenge.
Scotland open their Summer Series campaign against England this Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm. All matches will be streamed live on the U20 Six Nations YouTube channel.
