What’s On | Munster (URC QF)
Glasgow Warriors match day announcer, Hugh Dan MacLennan, will present the match ball ahead of the squad’s BKT United Rugby Championship quarter-final against Munster on Saturday (6 May).
This will be Hugh Dan’s last time taking up the microphone at Scotstoun. A job he has done since 2017.
Hugh became a household name with the Warrior Nation as lead commentator on BBC Alba’s coverage of the PRO12, PRO14 and other guises of the Celtic league.
When he delivers the ball, just before kick off at 7.35pm, it will also be an opportunity for the Warrior Nation to bid him farewell in his retirement.
Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Al Kellock, said: “Hugh has become synonymous with the club since his time commentating for BBC Alba. Since then, he has become a great friend of the club. On behalf of everyone at Scotstoun, we wish him the very best for his retirement.”
Live music and chocolate
Elsewhere around the stadium, when gates open at 6pm, our resident live band the Back Green Band will be playing in the South East entrance to the stadium. Also, look out for our shirt sponsor Brillband, with their bike, handing out chocolate.
SP Energy Networks Community Activity
On the back pitches behind the west stading, the following teams will be playing, Ardrossan, Whitecraigs, and Strathendrick.
At half time, the recent SP Energy Networks Warriors Championship winning school, Balfron High School, will have a lap of honour around the stadium.
Finally, also at half-time will be the on field High Ball Challenge, so listen out for our announcing sharing details of how to get involved.
