Jake Shearer and Jack Singleton are both set for their first appearances in Glasgow Warriors colours after being named in the front row, whilst Cameron van Wyk could make it a hat-trick of debuts if he comes off the bench under the Friday night lights.
Fin Richardson joins Shearer and Singleton in the front row, having last taken to the field in the victory over Connacht earlier this month.
Alex Craig is released from Scotland camp to join Jare Oguntibeju in the second row, the latter having crossed for the winning try in Treviso during last weekend’s 24-20 victory over Benetton.
Jamie Ritchie continues at blindside after making his club debut last time out, joining Macenzzie Duncan and Euan Ferrie in the back row.
Behind the scrum, George Horne starts at scrum-half after being rested last weekend, Dan Lancaster returning to the starting XV to line up at fly-half.
Johnny Ventisei makes his first appearance of the season as he lines up at outside centre, partnering captain Stafford McDowall in the midfield for tomorrow’s clash.
Bayley Kuenzle lines up on the wing for his first start since joining the club this summer, with Fergus Watson and Ollie Smith completing the back three.
The replacements see a trio of players released from Scotland duty to take their places on the bench, as Gregor Hiddleston, Max Williamson and Seb Stephen all line up as part of a six-two split of forwards and backs.
Patrick Schickerling and Sam Talakai provide the cover at prop, whilst Ally Miller wears the number 20 jersey for tomorrow night’s encounter.
Callum Reidy completes the matchday squad, the scrum-half joining van Wyk as the backline cover selected by Smith and his coaching team.
Speaking following selection, Head Coach Smith told glasgowwarriors.org: “The Lions play a unique brand of rugby that makes them a challenge for any team in the URC, and we know that we must be switched on throughout the match in order to take on that challenge.
“Jake, Jack and Cameron have each earned their selections in a matchday 23 for the first time, with all three men working hard to put themselves in the best possible position ahead of the match.
“We look forward to running out in front of the Warrior Nation one more time before the international window, and we know that they will get behind us at what’s set to be a sold out Scotstoun.”
