“To get that over in the end, is a great feeling” | Gregor Brown

Glasgow Warriors ground out a win last night over Munster as the club celebrated 10 years since winning the Pro12.

Gregor Brown caught up with glasgowwarriors.org to share his thoughts on the game.

“We definitely didn’t make it easy for ourselves,” Brown said, “to go a few tries down in the first half, probably wasn’t the nicest thing to watch, but it’s great to be apart of a team that can win ugly.

“To get that over in the end, it was such a tight game, is a great feeling.  We definitely needed that after the Ospreys game a couple of weeks ago.”

Brown has been away in Scotland camp for the past few months and has come right back into the match day squad with Glasgow fresh from his first Guinness Men’s Six Nations start against France.

Speaking on that he said, “It’s great seeing all the boys, I’ve not seen a lot of them in pretty much two months now.

“It’s great coming back in and seeing all the boys, all the coaches.  I love playing for Glasgow. I love playing at Scotstoun, so it was a really enjoyable night!”

Glasgow Warriors secured a bonus point win through George Horne, Kyle Steyn, Matt Fagerson and Nathan McBeth, all tries worth talking about in their own right.  Horne is now joint Top Try Scorer for the club, Steyn on his first game back from injury, Fagerson using his strength to power through defensive lines and McBeth who has scored three tries in three games.

“It’s huge,” Brown said on the four tries scored, “It’s one of the reasons I love playing for this team.  Just looking up and seeing the backs curve up, seeing all those boys just making line breaks.  Makes our job easier, means we can roll onto the ball.

“Then at the end with Nathan scoring, it was great, he’s such a strong man. I was in the ruck next to him and seeing him go over just shows what this team’s about.  We can do the flashy stuff outside and we can pride ourselves on the forwards doing the hard work when needed.”

Scotstoun was sold out for the clash with Munster as the Warrior Nation showed up loudly.

“It’s huge! It makes such a difference.  We can really hear the crowd. Especially during those breaks in play where Munster were trying to slow it down, you could hear the screaming, and it means to much to us.

“It’s so great playing at Scotstoun and coming in and seeing people in the standing section as well is just massive. Thank you so much for all coming out we really appreciate it and hope to see you all next week for our Plaster It Purple game against the Lions.”

Glasgow Warriors face Emirate Lions on Saturday 29 March at Scotstoun Stadium.  Tickets can be bought here.
