History was made last night at Scotstoun as Glasgow Warriors defeated Toulouse 28-21.
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - DECEMBER 13: Warriors' Sione Tuipulotu celebrates at full time during an Investec Champions Cup Round 2 match between Glasgow Warriors and Stade Toulousain at Scotstoun Stadium, on December 13, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland. (Photo by Ross MacDonald / SNS Group) Despite being 21 points down, the Warriors came out fighting in the second half, the Warrior Nation behind them to defeat the French giants.
After the match, Sione Tuipulotu caught up with glasgowwarriors.org to chat about the historic match.
“I’m pretty happy to be honest. It is awesome because we came in at half time down 21 points, but also a feeling we may be used to at home”, he says, laughing.
“And I back the boys, in terms about resilience and stuff like that, especially with the wind, we were going to take the wind in the second half. I just backed our resilience.
“We talked about that all week. They’re a good team. They’re going to have their moments in the game. But it’s going to be our resilience and then when it’s our turn to play, we make the chances count and we did that tonight. So that was pretty much the game.”
The facial expressions are just 🤌

With the momentum of the game clearly shifting in the second half, Tuipulotu says the messaging at half time remained the same, to just keep playing.
“Like I said, they had fired a lot of shorts and we hadn’t fired any, you know, in the second half, we made them defend a couple of our shots and they couldn’t really.

“It was just a game of two halves where we absorbed a lot in the first half and only gave away 21 points, and they absorbed the lot in the second half and gave away 28. So that’s why we won.”
Now that the first two rounds of the Investec Champions Cup are over, Glasgow’s focus will shift to defending the 1872 Cup against Edinburgh. Tuipulotu knows there are big games ahead but is ready to enjoy the win first.
“I just want to soak up this win and I know we’ll be back on the horse. I’ll come in Monday, ready to play again.
“But tonight’s more about just stoking it up as a team. A lot goes into a game like that from coaching staff and players. So it’s important that we’re soak so that up tonight and don’t think too far ahead. We’ll tackle next week when it comes.”
The atmosphere at Scotstoun may have been the loudest in a while, something that was noticed by the players on the field.
“It was amazing support tonight. That was the loudest it’s been in a long time. They just got behind us, when the momentum swung, we jumped on top of them and that was crowd effort as well.
“Thank you so much to come out and come to Hampden next week we’ll do the same”
