Glasgow Warriors to host Connacht in The Famous Grouse Pre-Season Friendly

Glasgow Warriors will welcome fellow BKT United Rugby Championship side Connacht to Scotstoun as part of their 2024/25 pre-season preparations, after details were confirmed for the 2024 edition of The Famous Grouse Pre-Season Friendly.

Franco Smith’s men will run out at home for the first time as BKT URC champions when they take on the Irish province on Saturday 7 September (kick-off 6pm), in a match that is included in all 2024/25 Season Ticket memberships.

All four stands will be in operation at Scotstoun for the fixture, which will not be broadcast or live-streamed.

The match will be the second and final pre-season test for Smith’s squad ahead of the new season, with the Warriors also set to travel to Zebre Parma a week earlier to open their pre-season account.

Supporters may be able to see new signings including Adam Hastings, Rory Sutherland and Patrick Schickerling take to the field for the first time in Glasgow colours, in addition to cheering on their champions in action at Scotstoun in their first outing since last month’s historic victory over the Vodacom Bulls in Pretoria to lift the trophy.

There may also be a landmark moment for the Cordero brothers, as Glasgow’s Facundo and Connacht’s Santiago get set for a potential first face-off against each other for their respective clubs.
