Kenny Brown | First 100 days
11 Dec 2025
As I mark my first 100 days as Interim Managing Director of Glasgow Warriors, I want to reflect on a period that has been both energising and deeply rewarding. It has been a privilege to work alongside an exceptional group of players, staff, supporters, commercial and community partners who all share the same ambition: to drive this club forward on and off the field.
As someone who started playing rugby in the Dumfries U9s and who has been fortunate to play at a handful clubs across the Glasgow region, I understand the connect our community has with this club. Tonight, our full squad and staff will visit 16 community rugby clubs as part of “Warrior Wednesday,” reinforcing the importance of our grassroots ties and the passion that exists for rugby in the west of Scotland. The enthusiasm shown by these clubs, alongside their buy-in to initiatives such as our group-booking programme for the 1872 Cup, continues to underline the depth of support that surrounds Glasgow Warriors.
We were delighted to confirm the renewal of SP Energy Networks as our Official Community Partner for a further three years, ensuring continuity and stability for the programmes that reach thousands across the region. Similarly, Denholm Energy Services has renewed their long-standing relationship with the club, extending a partnership that has spanned more than a decade.
In addition, we are proud to welcome the renewal of our partnership with Cameron House whose support will play a key role in our fundraising for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, including their involvement in this season’s Plaster It Purple match. These partnerships embody the values we share with organisations committed to investing in people, places, and positive impact.
Another significant moment in these first 100 days has been the announcement of our women’s squad for the 2025/26 Celtic Challenge season. The women’s programme is an integral part of Glasgow Warriors, and we are fully committed to growing and strengthening it in the seasons ahead. There is genuine excitement around the young talent emerging within the squad, and we are looking forward to seeing them take the next steps in their development. With home fixtures at Scotstoun beginning in January, I would encourage as many of our supporters as possible to get behind the team and help create an atmosphere that mirrors the passion you show for our men’s side.
Supporters have already played a central role in helping us deliver major occasions. Our return to Hampden Park for the 1872 Cup fixture is an important milestone, building on last year’s inaugural match. We learned a great deal from that first event, and through close collaboration with the Scottish Football Association and their hospitality partners Sodexo, we are confident that we will improve the match day experience significantly this time around. Opening additional bars and kiosks to reduce queue times was a direct response to supporter feedback, and I am grateful to all involved in delivering those enhancements.
On the field, the men’s team has made a strong start to the season, and there is real momentum among the playing group. Retaining top Scottish talent is a cornerstone of our strategy, and the recent re-signings of Ollie Smith and Rory Sutherland reflect our commitment to keeping our best players in Glasgow colours. Their decisions to extend their time at the club speak to the environment being created here at Scotstoun, one built on ambition, development, and a shared sense of purpose. Keep your eyes peeled for another re-signing announcement prior to our game against Edinburgh – you’ll not be disappointed.
This coming Saturday, we look forward to welcoming a sold-out crowd to Scotstoun for what promises to be an exceptional European occasion against Toulouse. The atmosphere our supporters generate on nights like these is unmatched, and I have no doubt the team will draw strength from that energy as we take on one of Europe’s most storied clubs.
I would also like to acknowledge the charitable contributions made by our supporters throughout this period. The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity remains a cause close to the hearts of everyone at the club, and your generosity towards our Fighting for our Families Campaign continues to make a meaningful difference to families across our city.
As we move deeper into the season, I want to thank you for the warmth, commitment, and passion you bring to Glasgow Warriors. These first 100 days have reinforced what a special club this is, and I look forward to continuing our work together.
I wish you and your families a safe and enjoyable festive period. I hope to see you all at the Toulouse game on Saturday, at Hampden on Saturday 20 December for the 1872 Cup and at our first home match in the Celtic Challenge in January.
