Darge named in 2024/25 BKT URC Elite XV
Rory Darge has been named in the 2024/25 BKT URC Elite XV, after another standout campaign in the back-row for Glasgow Warriors.
The Scotland co-captain is the sole Glasgow Warriors representative in the lineup, with players from no fewer than nine of the competition’s 16 teams included amongst the selections.
The Elite XV is determined by a media vote and players must have made at least nine appearances to be considered, with the media panel provided a shortlist of 10 per position by URC StatMaster.
Darge has continued to burnish his reputation as one of the northern hemisphere’s premier back-rowers over the course of the 2024/25 season, regularly catching the eye both with and without the ball.
The openside equalled the competition record for defenders beaten by a forward earlier this season, his tally of 10 in defeat to Benetton matching the previous best in the 15 years of tracking the statistic.
He also brought Scotstoun to its feet last Friday night by scoring the opening try in the club’s 36-18 win over the DHL Stormers in the BKT URC quarter-finals, his third try of the campaign.
