Glasgow Warriors Academy will be strongly represented in the Scotland U20 squad this Friday, with six of the club’s rising stars selected for the warm-up fixture ahead of the World Rugby U20 Championship.
Dan Halkon and Alex Bryden are named in the starting XV for the meeting with Ireland U20 at Meggetland Sports Complex, while Joe Roberts, Jackson Rennie, Rory Purvis and Harry Provan are included amongst the replacements.
The fixture, which kicks off at 3.30pm on Friday 5 June, serves as preparation ahead of the squad traveling to the World Rugby U20 Championship in Georgia later this month.
There is also Glasgow Warriors representation within the coaching team, as Senior Academy Assistant Coach Duncan Weir continues his involvement with the national age-grade programme.
Weir is joined by two familiar faces to the Warrior Nation, with former club captain Henry Pyrgos and former scrum-half Sean Kennedy forming part of the Scotland U20 coaching group.
