Fraser renews Glasgow Warriors contract
23 Apr 2026Angus Fraser says he is excited to continue his development with Glasgow Warriors, after putting pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at Scotstoun until at least the summer of 2028.
A product of Dundee Eagles, the 25-year-old has made 30 appearances to date in Glasgow colours, most recently off the bench in Saturday’s clash with the Fidelity SecureDrive Lions in Johannesburg.
Equally comfortable in the back-row as he is at hooker, Fraser first signed professional terms with the club in 2022 following a two-year stint with the senior academy at Scotstoun.
He made his professional debut away to Bath in the EPCR Challenge Cup in December 2022, becoming Warrior #350 as he helped his team to a memorable 22-19 win at The Rec.
Fraser marked his first start for Glasgow Warriors in style, crossing for the bonus-point try – his first for the club – in a 43-25 win over Leinster in round one of the 2023/24 BKT URC.
The hooker is a former recipient of the prestigious Macphail Scholarship, spending a year at Stellenbosch University in South Africa to further his rugby development.
“I’m excited to keep going with the boys here,” Fraser told glasgowwarriors.org.
“I really like what we’ve got building here in terms of the environment and everyone in the building pulling towards the same goal, and I’m happy to be sticking around.
“I’m ready for playing at both hooker and back-row – whatever the team needs me to do, really. I’m enjoying the game time in the back-row, but I’m also still making sure I’m doing what needs to be done to cover hooker in case I’m needed there.
“We’ve got a really good unit here, both in terms of the squad and the team behind the scenes. We’re all working hard to put ourselves in the best position possible and make sure we’re prepared as much as we can be for the business end of the season.
“I want to keep working hard, keep my head down and play as much as I can for this club – I want to contribute in any way that I can.”
Head Coach Franco Smith added: “Angus has worked hard and earned his opportunities throughout this season, and gives his all every time he pulls on the Glasgow Warriors jersey.
“He brings a real impact whenever selected, with his work rate and physicality in attack and defence evident each time he takes to the field.
“He is also keen to continue developing his own game and learn from those around him, and is someone that we believe to be a real asset to the squad.”
