Glasgow Warriors learn 2025/26 Investec Champions Cup opponents
Glasgow Warriors will face two of European rugby’s most historically successful sides in the pool stages of the 2025/26 Investec Champions Cup, after the draw was conducted this afternoon.
Franco Smith’s squad were drawn in Pool One for the 2025/26 competition, placing them alongside six-time European champions Toulouse and three-time victors, Saracens.
ASM Clermont-Auvergne and Sale Sharks – who were also drawn alongside the Warriors in the 2024/25 campaign – complete the opposition for Smith’s men, with the Hollywoodbets Sharks rounding out Pool One but unable to play the Warriors due to the competition pool stage rules.
It will be a first meeting with Toulouse since the 2014/15 campaign, the French side having emerged victorious in both matches between the two teams that season.
Glasgow’s sole victory over the French heavyweights came in January 2009, tries from Max Evans, Kelly Brown and Graeme Morrison – allied to 18 points from the boot of Dan Parks – giving the Warriors a 33-26 victory at the Stade Ernest Wallon.
The Warriors have not faced Clermont since the 2001/02 campaign, earning a 19-19 draw with the French side at Hughenden before losing out at the Stade Marcel Michelin in the return fixture.
Glasgow’s most recent meeting with Sale Sharks saw George Horne become the club’s all-time leading try-scorer in European competition, marking the occasion in style by crossing for a hat-trick in a 38-19 victory over the English outfit last December.
The Warriors also have fond memories of their most recent visit to Salford, running in six tries in a 45-7 win over the Sharks in January 2020.
Saracens complete the pool stage opposition for Smith’s men, with the Warriors still searching for a first victory over the side from North London.
Mark McCall’s squad eliminated Glasgow at the quarter-final stage in both 2016/17 and 2018/19, having also done the double over the Warriors in the pool stage of the latter campaign.
Fixture dates, kick-off times and venues will be confirmed in due course by EPCR. Two matches will be played at home, and two matches will be played away – the club’s two home pool stage matches are included in a 2025/26 Season Ticket.
