“Now to work hard and come back stronger” | Patrick Schickerling
Glasgow Warriors fought hard against the Ospreys but a last-minute penalty saw the visitors cinch the win by a single point.
Patrick Schickerling caught up with glasgowwarriors.org to share his thoughts on the evening.
“We always knew it was going to be a fine line game.” He said, “Massive credit to the Ospreys, they were physical and got the better of us at the end.
“There were good things and some bad things to learn from. We’ve got some downtime now to work hard and come back stronger.”
Schickerling managed to score two tries for Glasgow, the first of which was his first try for the club.
“I don’t think I’ve ever scored a try further than five metres away. But massive credit to my teammates for getting me up to the line and over the line.
“I love getting on the ball and scoring tries and it’s put some confidence behind me again.”
Glasgow now has a two week break from URC action while the Guinness Men’s Six Nations concludes. Glasgow Warriors will be back in action against Munster in Round 13 at home.
“We are back at home in a few weeks and Scotstoun is like a fortress to us.
“We can’t afford to slip up again like tonight, we will go look at the game and learn from our mistakes.”
Finally, Schickerling credited the support from the fans and commented on JP du Preez return to the park after his injury.
“The fans were loud tonight. Massive thanks to them. It makes a huge difference to be able to hear them when we play at Scotstoun.
“Hearing the roar, especially when I got my tries and when JP cam on. Massive congrats to him coming back! He’s a fellow south African and he’s had a long and tough time of it and I’m proud as a brother to share the field with him.”
