It was the home side Ayrshire Bulls, who kicked off to start the match. It was clear from the outset that both teams were going to be very forceful in their attacking play. Within the first five minutes however, a lose ball saw Eli Caven kick the ball past Christian Townsend and race him to the try line before scoring the first try of the game.  A successful conversion saw Ayrshire Bulls start strong with the scoring for the evening.

Shortly after Ayrshire Bulls won a penalty just in front of the Glasgow Warriors posts to give them another three points on the board.

Glasgow were quick to retaliate with a driving maul following a lineout, and Angus Fraser getting the ball down to give the Warriors their first try of the night. Duncan Weir’s conversion went wide, which keeps Glasgow five points behind Ayrshire.

With just under 20 minutes remaining in the first half, the Bulls put Glasgow under pressure within their 22.  The Glasgow defence stood strong and the score remained unchanged going into the break with Ayrshire leading 10-5 over their visitors.

Duncan Weir started off the second half and within the first two minutes Ayrshire Bulls made a line break and Jamie Sneddon gets the ball down. A successful conversion sees them add another seven points to their score.

Glasgow return within the next ten minutes after Ben Salmon gets the ball down in the corner following pressure along the Ayrshire defence.  Duncan Weir’s conversion moves Glasgow within five points of the home side.

Ayrshire Bulls retaliated with two tries in two minutes to extend their lead and give them the bonus point.  Their first of these two scored through Grant Stewart, who despite being tackled by Archie Smeaton, got the ball over the line just in front of the posts. Their second through Jamie Sheddon who took off at pace following a line break and was unable to be stopped.

The score remains unchanged for the remainder of the game, despite efforts from both sides and a missed penalty kick from Ayrshire.  Ayrshire Bulls get their bonus point win 29-12 over Glasgow Warriors A.
