Pete Horne returned to Glasgow Warriors as Skills Coach in June 2022, six months after hanging up his boots with the club.
The Howe of Fife product cut his coaching teeth as Head Coach of Ayrshire Bulls in the 2022 FOSROC Super6 Sprint Series, leading the Millbrae men for six months following his retirement from playing.
Having made his playing debut for Glasgow Warriors as a replacement against Ulster in March 2009, his first start followed the same month against Munster at Firhill before agreeing a full-time contract that summer.
He became the club’s most-capped back in December 2020, making his 178th appearance to overtake Graeme Morrison, whilst only Chris Fusaro, Ryan Wilson and Rob Harley have made more appearances than Horne’s total of 182.
A two-time Try of the Season winner, Horne was also voted as the club’s Players’ Player of the Season in 2013.
He made his Scotland debut in South Africa in the summer of 2013, before going on to establish himself in the national set up, playing in both the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England – scoring a try in the quarter-final against Australia – and 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
